B329 – NEED TO ORGANISE YOUR PHOTOS AND VIDEOS? HERES SOME TIPS!

So I have some news, Im pretty sure that im Ill but not like normal man flu ill. I feel like death. Right now its all about survivalĀ  and my body has decided that its probably best to shut up shop and get some good sleep. so thats what im going todo. Its pretty Ironic that I thought the last push when i passed the 300 day mark would be a walk in the park, oh how I was wrong. Im pretty sure that the next 46 days are going to be full on and pretty difficult to take three photos each day but im determined to power on and somehow make it to the end, right now though its all about just kicking this virus.

So the plan for today post Im going to dive deep into my photo archive and see what I can pull up from my early photography days, lets see what there is… my top tip is to archive everything, keep it logged because these photos and video are important content and some day youll want to look at it back and think about those cool moments. My photo archive is still pretty much all over the place but it is getting better, I have a rough understanding of where everything is and for me that is perfect. You dont need an excel spread sheet or anything too crazy. The secrete top tip is just to dump everything in files, you can call it anything you like. from “Birthday Party 2016” to “summer 2017 shots” and back them up onto two separate drives, keep everything in two places and youll be fine. Media Management is important and as long as you can figure your system out then that all that matters.

If your someone out there who knows that your media storage is terrible and all over the place drop me an email to joshfspear@icloud.com and lets come up with a way to organise it all and keep your files safe! trust me you will thank me later! no money needed just good Karma!

B302 – SOMETHING ON EVERY WALL

I forgot how hard it is to think of photos to post during a working week, its a completely different ball game all together and takes a lot of brain usage each day. but my thinking last night was what kind of typography you might see about London and the different kinds of advertising tactics that different companies use.

I feel that east London especially puts a lot of effort into the different types of advertising that is used, like the photo I took of the new Maze Runner film, they literally went all out on that thing, and painted a whole wall, then just to make it look that little bit better than stuck some UV lights at the top to make the whites stand out. but I think that my favourite photo from last night was when just by chance I looked up and saw that Jealous sign in Old Street, just by the American Car Wash for those of you that know the area. The way they have done that stands out so good for the area and its not completely in your face, I bet most people just walk past that and don’t even see it, then once you do notice it you wont ever forget its there. its genius. Then to give it some more depth, you wouldn’t even know why its there, so you do what I have done and go home to google it and find out its a framing and picture printing studio, I know it says print studio in the window but I genuinely thought that meant like magazine printing or something but now that has become somewhere IĀ need to stop by and find out more about, as Ive started printing my own pictures but don’t really know enough about yet, so Jealous Printing studio has now become somewhere I need to explore more and maybe speak to them about helping me figure out the best way to print my photos.

Its now Wednesday morning and Im just getting ready to get out the door, so have a smasher of a Wednesday and hope you like these photos.

B277 – EXPLORE GREENWICH

My plan today was based around just getting up and out, there was no chance I was spending another day sat on the sofa, so I decided to go somewhere I haven’t really been to before, Greenwich. its kind of like an old maritime dock place, and actually has some really good history. its feels like your stepping back into some kind of Pirates of the Caribbean movie set. The main reason for going over to Greenwich was to do something I haven’t done for a long time and thats Landscape photography, I used to take landscape photos all the time but as I live in somewhere that is so good for street photography that kind of became the type of photography I started to do, and don’t get me wrong I love street style photos but at the same time I love exploring new places and getting a bit muddy in the process. I know Greenwich isn’t exactly muddy but there are woods to explore and it does have that countryside feel.

its now starter day and both Amy and me are up early trying to get the day started, ive already got rid of our spare bed, now its time to clean the flat and then head out in search of some new storage stuff. Ive got Ā£10 in my pocket and my goal for this week is to somehow turn that Ā£10 into Ā£20, I’m not sure how exactly I’m going todo that but I might head out to a flea market or something and see how I get on. So if you see anything really weird and over priced on ebay its probably me trying to sell something I have no idea about.

Heres my photos from today, I really wanted to focus more on Landscape and try to add some sort of humor into the photos when I can.

Enjoy.

B218 – BACK TO THE OFFICE

Back in london now and back to work, but I though it would be a good idea to show some more photos from paris. before I start blabbering on, how good was Amy’s first post yesterday, she got 81 page views in total which for a day is pretty good! we just need to think of a name for her blog now? what are you views on http://www.joshisdabest.com ?

As you read on yesterdays post we spent most of the time walking around just exploring the city and looking for mussels and chips. Paris is on of those cities which Ive been toĀ  fair amount of times but just enjoy going to, I also try and not visit the same place twice until Ive seen enough of the world, but Paris is an exception. I cant go to that city enough, and as its a train ride away from London St. Pancras it literally couldn’t be easier.

But considering im now laying in bed on Wednesday morning trying to think of a good reason to lay here all day, but also knowing that in a few minutes I’ve got to get up and go to work I know that the fun little adventure at the weekend is now well and truly over. Ive decided that todays pictures should be in Black and White because that city looks so good in B&W and also because its no in the past it kind of works quite well for showing off some of the extra sights we saw.

Today Im determined to take my camera to work with me and start showing off some of London on my Lunch Break, see how far away from the office I can on my lunch break or something. Off the top of my head I think I can make it at least 5 miles. wish me luck!

B216 – AFTERNOON IN PARIS

After a bit of bumpy start yesterday when we first got to paris, basically our phones wouldnt work, which meant we had no way of booking an Uber, something todo with the new Apple OS update or something. But for those of you that have been to Gaurd De Nord before you know the first thing you see when you come out the train station is a Mcdonalds and they are known worldwide for having a good free Wifi connection, something that comes in handy when you need to book a taxi!

anyway yesterday afternoon was all about getting over to the Dior exhibition over at the Musee De Arts Decorative on Rue De Ravoli, its basically this massive museum which shows you the history behind Dior and how the company has got to where it is today, so it was pretty interesting. I know nothing about fashion or Dior really, but even for me it was just cool too see what goes into it and where the whole company originated from. In the exhibition theres a massive section on photography so that was pretty interesting to see. I definitely think if your in paris between now and the 7th January you should go and see this whole thing even if your not really in to fashion, the whole thing is just cool to see and even though its a museum full of dresses they don’t really look like dresses. they are more like pieces of art I suppose.

its now the next day and we are having a bit of a lazy morning trying to think what we should do for breakfast, we are staying at the Hotel Eiffel Blomet and they seem todo a good breakfast but nothing will ever beat €1 espresso coffee and a Jambon croissant.

Today the mission is to find some prints and stuff for the flat, Amy also NEEDS to see the shop collet! so I guess we will probably to that too.

Heres my photos from yesterday Bon Appetit.

B153 – 3 pictures of a pigeonĀ

Right I’m sorry but today’s post is just three pictures of a pigeon. I wish I had more to write about but prepping for this trip is taking up all my time, I literally stepped out the office to get an amazon parcel. When I saw a pigeon and took the chance to chase it around this mini park. I think I managed to pull it off and get the shot.
Sorry for the short post, but I’m just really busy at the moment. I promise tomorrow will be a good one.

B144 – Its a throwback thursday

I did have 3 photos ready to go for Thursday, but then I started looking back at the past 144 days and though I should maybe do my first ever through back Thursday. Ive been trying to think of my favourite day of the past 5 months and I think that its got to be when Amy and me spent a day by this hidden beach that you could only get to by beach of if you swam somewhere on the Amalfi coast, not sure where it was but for some reason that day has stuck with me, we literally did nothing as well apart from swim, eat and sleep.

we sat on this beach for ages, would get up every 20 mintues of something and go swimming, doing the proper brits aboard thing, swim and the full asleep. I don’t know why this is my favourite day, its probably because its the last time I can remember seeing blue sky since being back in london, where we’ve just got that flat gray weather. not that Im moaning, its definitely better than that crappy January weather we get any way, looking back through all these photos, its one of those things were now all I want todo is be on that beach again doing the same time.

One of the best memories I have from that day was Amy and me trying to get a picture of her flicking her hair out of the water and looking like a mow-hawk. When it works, the pictures look amazing, but when it doest thats when you get art! the best picture I have is of the fail. from the photo it looks like amy is trying to all angelic in the water in front of those Italian boys in the back ground but its just gone massive wrong, obviously that isn’t the case, but I definitely think thats what this photo looks like.

anyway heres a phone of the hair water flick fail and some other cool photos from that day.

B140 – thats what you call a sky

this weekend is paint the living room weekend, we’ve chosen the sunniest weekend in the whole of August to do this, but we are half a room down and tin of paint in and too far gone to quit now.

but after painting for 5 hours yesterday, amy and me decided enough was enough and that we should head out for a walk and to grab a drink and maybe some food. so we headed for some fresh air, the River Thames, lucky and for some un planned reason we got there just as golden hour was kicking in, so I got some absolute smashers. We also saw some armed police take someone down, not shoot just arrest pull him off his bike and arrest him. not sure what he done, but he must of annoyed someone.

After all that palaver, we ended up getting some food for a cool little restaurant on the river called Cote Brasserie, its some french restaurant chain but does really good food.

We are now getting dressed to head over to Homebase to grab supplies to finish the living room, my DIY skills are being put to the test, but i’m confident in my abilities and amys style to get us across the finish line.

Todays a bit of a ramble from me, Ive talked about a lot but nothing important. so just enjoy these snaps.

B097 – LOOKING BACK!

Sometimes its just easier to keep things simple.

B090 – BUCKLED BIKES OF BETHNAL GREEN

Probably a lot of you know im a bike fan of 2 wheels, not motor bikes they scare me but bicycles and all things pedal power, as someone living in london i’m used the walking out of a shop of pub to notice my bike lock on the floor and my bike gone. to me thats the lowest of the low, steeling someones bike. but this post is not about that, is post is about the sad and familiar site of bikes abandoned, chained to a lamp post or bike rack. something thats been rubber side down across hundreds of miles, it might of been a commuters new years eve resolution or even just a spontaneous purchase, but one thing no can disagree its the best way to see a city.

with 32% of all londoners cycling, thats around 4.2 million people! that means theres got to be at least 5 million bikes in London, thats amazing, but with that goes up the amount of bike abandoned which is sad! these could be the perfect traveling tools for people to get around. so people fi your reading this, dont abandoned your bike on the side of the road, take it to one of the bike hospitals for a new life!

check out these guys who are doing just that!
