B227 – UP IN THE CLOUDS

Im staying in the Grand Hyatt hotel which is pretty cool, the hotel reception is on the 54 floor and when you take the lift up your ears pop. my room is only on the 79th floor which gives you this cool view of Shang hi, the only time i have been this high up is when I went to the Shard for some drinks and even then I think I was only on the 60th floor or something. Waking up with a view of the city is insane, even when theres loads of fog and all you can see if the clouds moving slowly past your window it creates this cool effect.

When you come out of the tower and look up all you can see if the building disappear into the clouds. our building is trumped completely by the Shang Hi tower which is right next to us, that tower is the second tallest building in the world and stands at 635 meters tall and has 128 floors! it literally feels like two times the size of out building.

for the next week, Im going to just be using my Iphone, I cant really carry my camera around with me, which is annoying but I hope you like these photos. I got this taxi the other day and cant work out if the driver had a fake iphone or what phone is was, does anyone know? Shang hai is pretty famous for all the fake designer markets I really want to make it over to one and see what I can get hold of but not sure if I will have time.

first impressions of Shang Hi, it’s absolutely massive and China is actually a pretty cool place, but not as futuristic as I thought it would be, I was expecting to see loads of really modern things but its actually quite traditional.

Heres my photos from today, I hope you like them.

B152 – biggest trip of my life

today is the last friday before I leave london for a massive trip filming somewhere in canada and the states, im not really 100% sure yet but apparently but flights have been booked, im leaving on Sunday.

so yesterday was all about getting ready for this trip, buying some last minute essentials and make sure I haven’t forgotten anything. What im thinking is on this trip, was every day I might not be able to take photos on my 5d, upload them to my laptop edit them and then write about them on here, the whole process is normally about 45 mintues from when I start to when I finish. some days it might just be a case of taking some iphone snaps and doing it on my phone, which isnt the worst idea, but yesterday was quite a good test for me todo, in the idea of taking some quick snaps when I get the chance and then having the content there for me to write about when ever I can.

One thing I promise you, is I will still be posting everyday, I have no idea what time, but it will be every day. with me probably being in quite a few different time zones, I think it would be impossible to post at 10am GMT every day, it might just be better if I post at 10am where ever I am. my plan for Sunday and Monday is to have those posts lined up before, so my first post would be in Tuesday, which should give me time to take some bangers and also see about time differences and how I can still post for the mornings in the UK, instead of like 11pm GMT.

anyway this post isn’t really a fun one, its just me apologising in advance for properly some really unorganised posts.

(sorry for the spelling mistakes)

B081 – the only English in this town

We are staying in a place called Raito which is basically just full out old Italians that just shout words at you and then invite you into their house to buy a bus ticket.

Yesterday we went on the hunt for some pizza, and found a cool little restaurant the only thing is no one speaks a word of English so ordering food, drink or asking where the toilet is can be tough. But I gotta say this place is completely bonkers in a good way.

At the moment we are sat at a bus stop waiting for something to turn up not sure if it’s going to be a bus or horse and carriage trying to make it to Capri to have a look around … but as they say in French cest la vie!!

– Amy giving it some sass –
– literally not an English person in sight –

B076 – Lake Geneva is actually called…

so interesting fact, lake geneva is actually called Lake Leman. Amy and me are here for a little trip this weekend staying with some friends manon and Pauline, I was supposed to be running an Ultra Marathon in Chatel tomorrow, but because I tore the tendon in my leg I had to pulled out, so we are just here drinking wine and eating cheese.

Yesterday we ended with us having a bbq by Lake Leman (lake geneva) and ended with me jumping in the not so warm lake in my boxers, proper brits abroad style.
